1. Why did you join ABSA?
Going into freshman year, I actually knew several people already in ABSA, and they always spoke highly of not only the organization itself, but of the memories they had made with their friends in the organization. This definitely compelled me to check out the ABSA table during orientation and introductory events! ABSA has been a home ever since.
2. What is your favorite ABSA memory?
Personally, one of the best times I had with ABSA was at the Thanksgiving Potluck. Every moment, from cooking with my family and enjoying all the dishes, to watching a very competitive game of musical chairs was absolutely perfect.
3. What’s your favorite thing about UT Austin?
School pride! I have never been one to be at every football game or to always be decked out in school colors, but as a UT student, I have found that there is never a shortage of things to be proud of. Everything from the beautiful campus, to the lively city of Austin, to the diverse and extremely ambitious student body makes me want to cherish every moment I get to spend on the Forty Acres.
4. If you could give one piece of advice to your freshman self, what would it be?
Don't wait until you're "less busy!" In other words, don't let an opportunity to go have some fun slip away because you think you'll do it when you have less work, more time. You'll always be busy. Go on! Now!
5. What is your dream job?
I have always wanted to be an airline pilot. It would be a dream come true to be able to combine my passion for travel and aviation.
6. What’s your favorite TV Show/Movie/etc?
Currently, my favorite TV shows include Money Heist, Nikita, and The Good Place. My favorite movie of all time is Titanic. Specifically the scene of the string quartet playing as the ship sinks.
7. What is one thing that you love about yourself?
I love my heritage. I am very appreciative of the culture that I am immersed in not only as a Japanese American, but also as an Asian American.
8. Name the top five things on your bucket list
