1. Why did you join ABSA?

Unlike most of the ABSA members, I joined as a sophomore. As a freshman, I focused solely on my GPA and pushing towards a career in finance. Coming out of my first year, I realized that I had plateaued. You can only go so far alone. I joined ABSA to find a group of friends who share a similar background and have similar goals. I can safely say that the people I met in that first year have become friends and family.

2. What is your favorite ABSA memory?

My favorite memory was celebrating my birthday with Admin branch. Starting with being an escort for ABSA’s Next Top Model and then surprised with a cake at the end of it already made my day. After that was profit share and spending more time with ABSA was absolutely incredible. And to wrap it all up, homemade hotpot with Admin branch just made that day so perfect.

3. What’s your favorite thing about the University of Texas at Austin?

UT is so big that whatever you like to do or whatever background you come from, UT has an opportunity for you. There are so many diverse organizations, majors, and career paths that UT has created for you. Take advantage of all the choices and find what makes you happy and what will make you feel at home. These four years will be the years you cherish the most ONLY if you make them the best years of your life! Try out new things and find your home here at UT.

4. If you could give one piece of advice to your freshman self, what would it be?

Understand that you have to make sacrifices in life. Time is precious. As much as you want to have the highest grades, be the fittest you’ve ever been, spend all the time with your friends and family, have a perfect defined career path, and get enough sleep, the only thing stopping you is time. You will get tired and an area of your life will falter. Don’t be afraid to let some things slide to make time for another. You’re human, you’re not perfect, always reach out to others when you need to.

5. What is your dream job?

Now I say I would want to be a chef. I love the attention to detail that comes to prepping the food and then plating it. I love eating food. I also like cooking for my friends and family and seeing the positive reactions on their face. Back when I was younger I would have said a dancer.

6. What is your favorite TV Show/Movie/etc?

The Man from Nowhere - Please don’t google this

The Big Short - I’m sorry I’m a finance major

My Father - Sad boi hours

21 - Still a finance major

Good Will Hunting - idk man just a good movie

7. What is one thing you love about yourself?

I love my work ethic. The first thing I will throw out to finish work is what other people would call their “health”. For me, sleep, food, and entertainment can all be tossed out in order to achieve your goals. You have to make sacrifices to go above and beyond at times and I consider myself lucky to be able to sustain stressful work for extensive periods of time.

8. Name the top five things on your bucket list.

  • Travel to Asia with friends

  • Own 10 houses

  • Meet Red Velvet and Big Bang

  • Start a watch collection

  • Buy a car for my parents
